COMIC STRIPS TO ENHANCE DIGITAL LITERACY

Abstract

  The use of interesting media also contributes to a better learning process, both increasing student participation and their interest in class activities which might lead them to have better reading and writing skills. The teaching and learning process will not be done properly if there are several problems related to students' interest in the learning process. Students who have good interest in learning English will have better abilities and motivations to follow the learning process. In addition, students interest will also help them to learn English excitedly. Today, one of the greatest instructional methods for language learning is comic strips. Numerous studies highlighted the benefits and challenges of using comic strips in language learning. Comic strips, especially English ones, are effective for teaching foreign languages, according to all of the research.  Students might pick up a new language while also developing their visual storytelling skills. Additionally, it improved the students' mastery of language components like grammar and vocabulary as well as their reading and writing skills. This book contains the review on the use of comic strip to improve students' reading and writing skill to strengthen their digital literacy as well. This book is also supported by various pictures from various sources and tables to make it easier for readers to understand the material presented.  This book is expected to be used by academics as well as those who are studying in the field of language learning, especially the media to teach English, as well as other related sciences.
