THE IMPACT OF THE SITUATION BEFORE AND DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON THE STOCK PRICES OF COMPANIES IN THE TRADE, SERVICE AND INVESTMENT SECTOR IN THE TOURISM, HOTEL, AND RESTAURANT SUBSECTORS LISTED ON THE INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE

Abstract

In this study, the authors analyzed the differences in stock prices in thirtyfour companies in three subsectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, or IDX, namely the tourism, “hotel, and restaurant sectors. Tourism companies include Satria Mega Kencana Tbk, Destinasi Tirta Nusantara Tbk, Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk, Bayu Buana Tbk, Citra Putra Realty Tbk, Dafam Property Indonesia Tbk, Graha Andrasentra Propertindo Tbk, Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional Tbk, Sinergi Megah Internusa Tbk, Pudjiadi Prestige Tbk, and Pembanguna Ancol Tbk, Hotel companies that include Mandarine Regency Hotel Tbk, Bukit Uluwatu Villa Tbk, Hotel Sahid Jayakarta International Tbk, Anugerah Kagum Karya Utama Tbk, Arthavst Tbk, Saraswati Griya Lestari Tbk, Island Concepts Indonesia Tbk, Indonesia Paradise Property Tbk, Jakarta International Hotels Tbk, MNC Land Tbk, Mas Murni Indonesia Tbk, Sanurhasta Mitra Tbk, Ayana Land International Tbk, Nusantara Properti Internasional Tbk, Ayana Land International Tbk, Ayana Land Tb Restaurant companies that include Fast Food Indonesia Tbk, Sarimelati Kencana Tbk, Pioneerindo Gourmet International Tbk, Jaya Bersama Indo Tbk, PT. Marga Abhinaya Abadi Tbk, and MAP Boga Adiperkasa Tbk” Following the processing, data analysis, testing of hypotheses, and discussion of the findings of the study comparing the stock prices of tourism, hotel, and restaurant sector companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange before and during the COVID-19 pandemic, the following conclusions can be made: Before and during the COVID-19 outbreak, there was a considerable disparity in the stock values of hotels and restaurants listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
